In a year that has seen a focus on the underpinnings of racial and social equity issues, concurrent with alarming learning loss in school children, School of Education faculty and alumni—in research and in practice—are stepping up to meet the moment.
With a lot of patience, creativity, and a tenacity matched by that of their students, many professors made it through the spring semester. Over the summer, they upped their game and came back this fall with some new skills.
One of alumnus Irwin Federman’s main concerns is that Brooklyn College students should have the same opportunity he had to earn their degrees. With his wife Concepción’s encouragement, the couple is helping to give a new generation of students a chance.
