1960

Architect David Maron was honored with Judith Maron ’62 by Hackensack Riverkeeper, Inc., for restoring the company’s office building that had been destroyed by fire.

1963

Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences Sheldon Krimsky published Understanding DNA Ancestry (Cambridge University Press, 2021), a book that demystifies the science behind DNA ancestry tests.

1967

Samuel Cheris was elected treasurer of USA Fencing for the third time. He is also continuing as special adviser to the Board of the Colorado Society of CPAs and as chair of the investment committee for the Colorado Bar Association.

1968

Sol Barer received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry at Rutgers University. He is chair and member of the Hackensack Meridian Health Center for Discovery and Innovation, and former chair of BioNJ. He also serves as an adviser for biotech companies and funds.

1970

Richard Caputo, professor emeritus of social policy and research at Yeshiva University, published Connecting the Dots: A Social Work Academician’s Memoir of Intellectual and Career Development (Archway Publishing, 2017). He also published Policy Analysis for Social Workers (SAGE Publications, 2013) and U.S. Social Welfare Reform (SpringerLink, 2011).

1976

Larry Schiffer of Schiffer Law and Consulting was named 2022 Global Elite Thought Leader by Who’s Who of Legal, Insurance and Reinsurance. This award honors his legal and consulting practice for knowledgeable insurance expertise.

1979

Author and playwright Michael Solomowitz published his debut novel, Behind the Fourth Wall, a Psychological Drama (Black Rose Writing, 2022), a story of hope and redemption, forgiveness and second chances, and the courage to face one’s darkest fears.

1990

Stephen Garone, digital content editor at Brooklyn College, discussed atlantids, caryatids, and the joy of traveling with the Wooster Weekly News (Ohio).

2004

Carl Hamad-Lipscombe is the executive director of Envision Freedom, an organization advocating for criminal justice, immigration systems, housing, medical care, legal referrals, and mental health support.

2013

John Ros is a multiform conceptual installation artist and director/founder of studioELL, a New York City–based space for radical community education in studio art practice. He is also a lecturer at Tufts University and The New School. He co-founded the online intermission museum of art, serving as the director and project curator.
