Dr. Harold Varmus, 1989 Nobel prize winner in Medicine, speaks at the first Annual Distinguished B.A.-M.D. Lecture hosted by the Coordinated BA/MD program at Brooklyn College held in March.
Leymah Roberta Gbowee, 2011 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, joined President Michelle J. Anderson for a special lecture in the Woody Tanger Auditorium in April. Gbowee helped lead the Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace that worked to end the 14-year civil war in Liberia
Members of student government covered in bright pigments celebrate the Hindu festival of Holi that marks the arrival of spring. During Holi participants cover each other in rainbow colors, each of which has a special meaning.
The Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music orchestra held a free concert at the Clair Tow Theater on March 3. The program featured works by Felix Mendelssohn and Sergei Prokofiev, among others. +9
